Raipur, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh made many major announcements in larger interest of police personnel of the state, including construction of additional 10 thousand houses for them. Dr Singh made these announcements today at the Convocation Parade Ceremony of new constables in Police Training School situated in Mana Camp of capital city Raipur. In his address to the programme, Dr Singh said that Rs one crore 20 lakh will be sanctioned for establishing automated modular kitchen in the school. In this ultramodern kitchen, meals for 600 people everyday will be prepared easily. Chief Minister took salute of the parade by new constables, who have successfully completed training in the school.

In his address, Dr Singh further said- Services provided by police personnel to common people is in a way difficult and challenging but it also provides satisfaction to one’s heart. Personnel and officials of State Police are dedicatedly working to maintain law and order in society and to provide security to common people. Keeping in view the difficulties of their work, State Government has accepted that with changing times, facilities being provided to police personnel by State Government should also be revised and improved. Government is considerate and responsive to redressal of their problems. Even on the naxal front, they are fighting with courage and valour. On the occasion, Chief Minister appealed naxalites to shun violence and join the mainstream of nation and society. He said- they should leave the path of violence and surrender so as to live a life of peace. If they don’t shun violence, they will be dealt with strictly. Our police and Central Security Forces are always ready to deal with any kind of situation.

Dr Singh further continued his series of announcements for police personnel saying- from constables to Deputy Superintendent of Police cadre under Chhattisgarh Government have same pay-scale as that of Madhya Pradesh, but there is difference in pay-scale of a few posts. Hike will be given as per requirement to keep it equal to pay-scale in Madhya Pradesh.

He said- Chhattisgarh Government has given all its employees another opportunity to present an alternative pertaining to medical allowance. This facility is available for police personnel as well. If any police personnel wants to claim actual medical expenses instead of medical allowance, they can give this option. Dr Singh said- State Government has decided to build 10 thousand houses last year. Construction of six thousand houses has already begun. In next two years, additional 10 thousand houses will be constructed, which will solve housing problem of police personnel to a greater extent.

Chief Minister said- State Government is providing gym facility to police personnel right from district-level to battalions, so that they make take care of their health and fitness. Gradually, this facility will be provided for sub-division and in police stations as well. He said- police personnel are provided goods related to their uniform. State Government has decided that some of these goods will be provided by the department and in place of other things, personnel will be provided cash amount. He said- State Government is equipping police force with ultramodern facilities. We have decided to include each police personnel into CUG in order to provide extensive telecommunication facility. He said that every police personnel is expected to reach the event spot or respond in some way or the other immediately. Keeping this in view, police personnel of right from constable to inspector cadre will be provided Monthly Response Allowance. Every year Bullet Proof jackets will be purchased for Police Force. Director General of Police Mr. AN Upadhyay and other senior officials were present in the convocation parade.
